Not unless it is advised by the doctor, one should not swim or even sleep in contact lenses.

Allergen eye drops can be used by someone who has an allergy in the eyes be it caused by pollen, dust, or sunlight. Sparingly they should be used because if used excessively they can cause harm. When outdoors, prolonged exposure to sunlight can harm the eyesight. One should therefore wear protective sunglasses when they go outside and the sun is shining. The effects of the rays from sunlight buildup with time and therefore children should wear protective hats and sunglasses when they are out in the sunlight for prolonged hours. When using chemicals or power tools, googles are appropriate for the eyes. This helps to protect the eyes from any large objects or small that might hit the eye and cause damage.

Nutrition also is key to good eye health, especially pediatric eye care . Ensuring that the diet that one consumes has foods that contribute to good eye health should be done. A diet that is good, healthy and balanced is going to be helpful for the eyes. Vitamin E, C, zinc and omega-3 fatty acids should be contained in the food that one eats.
